Basic photography training for family photos

This photography training course is targeted at people who haven’t touched a camera in some time and want to learn a little bit of information on what digital cameras are, and how to make the most out of them.
We cover training on Point and shoot cameras as well as SLR (d) cameras, the limitations of digital cameras and how to carry out some basic photographic editing on your computer or laptop.

Course Structure

The course is a mixture of media and information. We will send you over some information, which is general reading material, which should point you in the right direction as a start.
The next step is about buying a camera if you don’t already have one, how they work what they do and what the different modes do etc..and what a camera cant do. so this is the technical part.
Your next part is a technical assessment of your photo’s, this will show where your going right and wrong, this is call a critique. You then take what we say and try again.
There is then some videos to watch and learn from. This will give you an insight to professional photography and image taking.
You will again try out your photography skills and see how you get on.

The final part of the course is a hands on day shoot and review with one of our photographers, you can ask questions and have them answered over the 6 hour time period and we will review your images as we go.

For some who fail to grasp some of the concepts this course, the photography training may actually be longer.The course is delivered online and can be also face to face if required.

The New to Digital photography course:

  • Buying a digital camera and what mega pixels mean
  • Workflow for digital cameras and basic image editing.

This photography training course is targeted at photographers who are moving from film camera to digital cameras. There is a difference between the two types of cameras and the menus can seen that bit to much with about 20 settings to do one thing and combinations. Digital photography is pretty simple once you grasp the basis of how the camera works apposed to film and understanding its limits and differences.

Course Structure

The course is more hands on than our basic photography training course in that we will provide you with information on the cameras, the technical limits and how to do the things that you do with your film camera on a digital camera.

We will go through a shoot (random) and walk you though so that you can see the differences and ask the questions as you need to. In basic form this photography course and digital photography training is a bit like having a friend that knows about digital and film cameras that you can ask all the questions that you want and we will show you.

we have digital SLR cameras that you can use if you haven’t bought your own digital camera yet and are holding back on taking the step toward digital photography.
This one to one time with a photographer and a digital cameras can give you a greater insight into using a digital SLR camera, how its work, its limits and how to make the most out of it.

This course is held over a 7 hour day (plus one hour for lunch)

For some who fail to grasp some of the concepts of this course, the camera training may be longer.

How to get wedding bookings, and what to charge for your services; As well as selling yourself through Brochures and promotional material, attending wedding fayres and building exhibition stands(marketing).

The course will also go into the research that I have undertaken from brides and grooms from all over the country and will assist you in developing your web site and services.

For Trainee’s: With this wedding photography course, you will be taken out on location to shoot “on-the-fly” and in a range of environments that is really hands on work and will give you a great idea of how a wedding will unfold and bring you up to speed with shooting in constant changing environments.

Wedding Photography by Rory WithamAfter a number of shoots and tutorials, you may be asked to complete assignments by yourself and submit your work. You will also be given other tasks such as rescuing bad photos and creating photos. This will prove your worth as a wedding photographer.

You will be given tasks to give your personal touch to photography based on typical wedding themes from a list of over 160 different poses and set up shots with people who you have to control.

You will them move on to more traditional
shooting poses and more adventurous methods.

Once a level has been attained you may then shadow Rory on a real live wedding shoot. After you have become accustomed to the format you will then start taking your camera and taking photos on a live wedding. In between this highly practical, Hands-on sections of this course on Wedding photography, you will also be feed lots of information on the remainder of the business areas which are equally important.

When a good standard has been reached and a understanding of weddings and the services you will be expected to deliver, this will be the end of your training as a wedding photographer.

If you do not have basic camera knowledge then take a look at the basic photography training For some first timers, its is a matter of being in the right place at the right time and knowing the way in which the wedding falls.
Most weddings follow a pattern and it is pretty easy to know where you need to be to get the right shot. One of the other problems is poses and actual shooting images, getting the people in the right place, at the right time can be a cure, With this training you can understand where you will need to be and how to pose people for that special shot that your family will treasure.
